Meet Dr. Nicole Fleischmann

Dr. Nicole Fleischmann is a board-certified urogynecologist, pelvic floor surgeon, and medical innovator with over two decades of experience specializing in female pelvic medicine, urinary incontinence, voiding dysfunction, prolapse, and pelvic neurophysiology.

Dr. Fleischmann’s clinical work has increasingly focused on the intersection of behavior, reflex physiology, and pelvic floor dysfunction, leading to the development of the GRIT (Guarding Reflex Inhibition Training) framework and the "Second Mouth" model for behavioral pelvic regulation. She is also the author of The Second Mouth, a bestselling narrative medicine book exploring pelvic floor dysfunction, embodiment, and women's health through patient-centered clinical storytelling.

In parallel with her surgical practice, Dr. Fleischmann is the founder and CEO of Athena Urologic, developing AEGIS, an electrophysiology diagnostic and therapeutic platform designed to bring objective physiologic measurement to the office evaluation of female urinary incontinence.

Her broader interests include translational medicine, healthcare innovation, neurophysiology, medical device development, and the integration of behavioral and physiologic approaches into women's health. She is particularly interested in how clinicians can help shape the future of healthcare through leadership, innovation, and systems-level thinking.
